The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Electrician is to disassemble, repair, assemble and install all stationary and portable electrical equipment. Perform duties according to the National Electrical Code and be able to read and perform work from prints, schematics and/or instructions. The Maintenance Electrician will perform the following job skills:

  • Independent Troubleshooting ' Relay logic and PLC controlled equipment (especially AB PLC's), power supplies and motor starters.
  • Wiring Installation ' Conduit, wire descriptions, sizes capacities, AC & DC circuits, electrical networks up to 480 volt 3 phase, bus duct power distribution.
  • Motors ' install and repair motors (AC & DC), diagnose trouble of commutators and armatures, and necessary repairs, brush installation.
  • Panels and Controls ' Wiring of cabinets, relays, shunts and control equipment according to diagrams prepared by Engineering.
  • Lighting ' Ballast, incandescent, fluorescent, vapor proof, explosion proof, installation according to engineering specifications, wiring replacement and maintenance and diagnose trouble.
  • Generators and Transformers ' Install generators and transformers according to engineering specifications, wiring, repair, replacement and maintenance, and diagnose trouble.

Must be familiar with common test and measurement equipment (digital multimeters circuit tracers), HMI control, NEC training, and have knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out and Arc Flash.

Responsible for keeping the work area clean and returning parts and equipment to designated storage areas. They will be required to complete forms and reports as directed by the supervisor.

The secondary responsibility of the Maintenance Electrician is to assist and work directly with the maintenance personnel when special needs arise. The Electrician will perform minor maintenance work which is incidental to the function of the Electrician's job.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years experience working within a manufacturing facility, doing work that is directly related to electrical maintenance
  • Experience within a large scale, fast-paced production facility
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts within a daily, rotating 24/7 schedule within a heavy manufacturing facility
  • Successful attainment of a high school diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Pre-employment Assessment testing
  • Must pass pre-employment screening that includes: Drug screening, criminal background screening, pre-employment physical and fit for duty screening
