Primary Responsibilities    

  • Recovery/retention of ESAB brand plasma consumables.
  • Retrofit sales growth for ESAB and Thermal Dynamics cutting products.
  • Perform cutting process evaluations. Observe and evaluate customer cutting operations to identify areas of improvement.
  • Perform Machine Evaluations. Visual and physical evaluation of customer complete cutting system to identify new upgrade opportunities.
  • Test faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of electronic devices to diagnose the cause of malfunctions.  
  • Write technical reports describing malfunctions and deviations from design specifications. Work with ESAB service department and retrofit business manager to provide appropriate solutions.
  • Diagnose malfunctioned equipment. Develop solutions for preventative/corrective maintenance on customer's machines.
  • Communicate with customer, programmers, engineers, technicians and production personnel identified areas of improvement. Includes communications with customer's operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Complete pertinent paperwork timely, and make all travel arrangements to accommodate customer's needs.
  • Train customers on CNC Cutting Machine Products.

Minimum Qualifications      

  • Electronics / Engineering degree
  • 2-3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with ESAB equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with cutting machines and mechanized cutting processes. Focus on plasma and oxy/fuel cutting.
  • Able to ready, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional & technical journals and governmental regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Able to apply advanced mathematical concepts (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, schematic diagrams, etc.)
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to learn and apply Colfax Business Systems Value Selling Tools into daily work.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to manage time and work independently.
  • Extensive domestic travel required. Some international travel.

State location not specific but must live within 1 hour drive time of a major airport.
